Recently I made my way over to the UAE, exactly to the city of gold, Dubai. Over there we stayed at the 5* hotel Jumeirah Emirates Tower Hotels in the financial district of Dubai. On google the cityhotel got a ranking from 4.6/5 possible stars, which in my opinion is a pretty decent rating.
JET is a luxury hotel owned by the luxury hotel chain Jumeirah. The hotel it self was one of the two towers from the tower couple.
The other one was an office building. The hotel overall had 400 rooms among them are 40 suites. altogether the hotel and the Emirates mall below the towers include 16 restaurants and multiple stores. In a world wide comparison its the 48th tallest building in the world and the 4th tallest all hotel building in the world, right after the Burj al Arab (also owned by Jumeirah).
Getting there wasn’t difficult. From DXB to the JET Hotel we had only 15 minutes driving. Because of picking a “luxury” sedan service we paied 70AED which is about 17CHF.
The construction ended in 2000 so the hotel was at the moment of our stay 17 years old. They didn’t let you feel the age of the hotel. It’s super modern, with touch sensitive light switches and more little details I litteraly fell in love with this place.
Our room was a Club King Room on the 36. floor.
The bed was a box-spring bed with the normal king-size. The room view was, as the homepage of the hotel said, impressive. You were able to see at the skyline of Dubai and the Kings-place.
Roomsize was 44 square meters with seperate seating area. And a bathroom with a bathtube and a shower, also seperated.
The only negative thing I can say about the room, is the positioning from the TV. On the opposit wall of the bed is a bit miserable to watch TV in a comfy position.
Over all I have to leave a great praise to the hotel stuff and the house keeping crew! Neither our coffee nor or water in the room or breakfast area ever went empty. The room was so clean and our clothing was folded all the time.
Hint: If you go to Dubai with the fundamential idea of going to the beach or just bathing over all, do yourself a favour and pick a beach hotel, like the Jumeirah al Naseem or the Jumeirah Beach Hotel. It’s just easier for you and you are more independant of shuttle services or taxidrivers.
In my opinion the 5* rating is totaly deserved and for a price of 880 CHF for 6 nights including breakfast is justified.
Have you ever stayed at the JET Hotel? Tell me your opinion about it and over my post at all!
